Driving to the Alps could be cheaper than you think!  With four of you in the car your fuel costs from the French port of Calais will be around £30 per person each way. Depending on the vehicle.
P&O, SeaFrance and DFDS  provide ferry crossings from Dover to Calais (and DFDS to Dunkerque)
There´s a crossing from Hull to Zeebruge which sails overnight, gets you a comfortable cabin and arrives at a sensible time in the morning. It´s then around 9-10 hours to the Alps.
The super quick Channel Tunnel is another option from Folkestone to Calais.
It’s about a 9-hour drive from both Calais and Dunkerque to La Plagne or Les Arcs.
Other crossing points exist such as Newhaven to Dieppe or Portsmouth to St. Malo.
There are free public car-parks very close to each of our chalets in La Plagne and free private parking right outside the chalet in Les Arcs.

To ensure our free transfers are available, please book your arrival day flights to arrive in the afternoon no later than 3pm (and ideally after 11.00am) and your departure day flights to depart early afternoon (no earlier than 1pm) to/from either Chambery or Geneva.
Transfers from/to Bourg St Maurice, Landry and Aime for the train stations are complimentary on arrival/departure days.
Minibuses on the day of arrival are not available before 12.00pm so if you book an early arrival you will have to wait.
Minibuses on the day of departure will depart your chalet between 8am and 9am (but no later) so if you book a late flight you will have to wait at the airport.
We are not able to provide free transfers for flights arriving after 3pm or departing before 1pm.
Free transfers are based upon 8 sharing a minibus unless otherwise agreed, minibuses will be allocated to your group accordingly however when there are less than 8 in one minibus we may ask you to share with other guests and we will ensure any wait times will be kept to a minimum. In some exceptional cases we will use a larger minibus or coach.
The chalets are not accessible until 16.00 in any case.
Baby car seats and booster seats will be arranged for children and infants FREE of charge.
Complimentary transfers are not available under any other conditions and it is your responsibility that all your group members are aware of these conditions.
For delayed flights, the maximum we can wait is up to one hour after the scheduled arrival time (or no later than 4pm) in order to comply with driver hours regulations. If your flight is delayed by more than this we will endeavour to arrange an alternative transfer. You will have to pay for this initially (a one way transfer is around £350 per minibus and a taxi can cost €400 or more) but you will normally be able to reclaim this on your travel insurance.
