The skiing in the high altitude, snow-sure resort of La Plagne is totally brilliant. La Plagne, which is situated in the Tarentaise valley within the French Alps, is a great family ski resort that caters well for every level of skier and the off-piste attracts experts from miles around.

La Plagne is linked to the resort of Les Arcs by a huge cable-car, the Vanoise Express, and the combined ski area, known as Paradiski, totals 425km of piste.

The runs in La Plagne total a whopping 225km, split as follows (not including the runs in Les Arcs):

Green (easiest): 11

Blue (lower intermediate): 79

Red (upper intermediate): 34

Black (pretty tricky): 10

Cross-country: 80km

There are three terrain parks including France’s largest permanent half pipe. In total the ski area rises from 1250m to the top of the Bellecote glacier at 3250m.

La Plagne is a purpose-built resort made up of ten interlinked villages. The Skibug chalets are located in the pretty wooded area of Plagne 1800, one of the six high altitude villages in La Plagne.

Those looking for après-ski activities are in luck. As well as being home to the Olympic bob-sleigh track (we can arrange a hair-raising shot for you), La Plagne has an outdoor heated swimming pool, an ice-skating rink and skidoo trips. In terms of nightlife, the pubs, bars and clubs in the various villages of La Plagne keep any bar-fly entertained.
