a bugs guide to skiing holidays
if you’re not sure what to expect from a Skibug chalet holiday this short guide will help…
before your holiday
on holiday
Your hosts will take you to our friendly hire shop to pick up skis, boots, board etc if you need them. It's helpful if you know your weight, height & shoe size in European measurements for this. Your hosts will also sort out ski-passes for you, show you where to meet your ski instructor and deliver you by minibus to the slopes in the mornings. If you have children in nursery they’ll drop them off too.
For the first three days of your holiday we offer ski-hosting service – a free-of-charge way to get to know the slopes, other guests and some of the best on-piste restaurants. You need to be able to ski red runs competently to take part in ski hosting.
If you like to burn the candle at both ends you can visit one of the bars in the village of Plagne 1800 that are a short walk away or you can head up to Plagne Centre (20 minute walk or 5 minutes on the free bus) or Plagne Bellecote (10 minutes on the free bus) where there are more bars and a few clubs.
food, glorious fooooood
Skibug food is delicious! A hearty breakfast of cereals, fresh bread, tea, coffee and a hot option (e.g. scrambled egg or bacon roll) will set you up for the day. On your return from the slopes you will be greeted by afternoon tea including a freshly baked cake. Dinner is served at 8pm (6pm for kids).
Once a week your chalet hosts will have a day off so they will leave breakfast and afternoon tea for you and can recommend a lovely restaurant for your evening meal.
Before or after you book we will be happy to
answer any questions for you, no matter how obscure.
